In line with the promotion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education, Esri Rwanda Ltd., together with the Electricity Unit of Energy Water and Sanitation Authority (EWSA), the Ministry of Education and the Centre for Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing organised the sixth Esri Summer Camp for twenty Secondary School pupils in Rwanda.

Themed under "Observe - Understand - Apply" the students together with experts from EWSA collected Cash Power Meters and other electricity facility related information using GPS and questionnaires. The data collected were analysed and mapped in a GIS to help solving problems in the electricity network faster. During the Closing Ceremony the pupils presented their findings and showed in a live demonstration how the electricity network can assist and improve EWSA's customer services at the 3535-hotline.
